Can I do this?

What about a LCD sign? -
By the way, have you checked to make sure that you don't slide the right-hand pressure roller all the way over to the right until it hits the set-screw stop position? The SC has a factory defect (well, mine did, and I assume that the Chinese manufacturer made the same error on all production units) whereby the set-screw on the rear rail is actually too far over, and that allows the first pressure roller assembly to slide to a point where it's NOT coming into contact with the lower grit roller and misses it. I have previously posted about this issue several times in these Forums, including this photo of the problem, indicating the point where you can slide it all the way to the right (green arrow) until it stops on the set-screw, and you'll have problems -- -- only go as far as the blue arrow, so it stays in contact correctly with the grit roller.

But would it have been a screwing to charge $28 for the same material & time? -

Time and time again, the question of pricing on RTA arises, and the answer remains the same --- L + W (inches) divided by two = dollars. In this case, 12+2 = 14 /2 = $7.00 So, they paid maybe twenty bucks higher overall for this job, but that's still within the realm of "normal" pricing and certainly isn't a royal screw. -
Very obscure subject matter, try Google Images. o2.EPS

SignBlazer has no-smoking graphics in the Library (DRAW menu, Signs/Safety Signs).

Hmmmmmmm, he is asking about SignBlazer setup adjustments, and gets a suggestion to buy a new cutter with a list price of only $4,395.00. In the SBE cutter setup window, there are options for Cut Direction and Cutter Tracking, both of which could very well alter the parameters of where the cuts start. Also, perhaps try to Rotate Across Vinyl? Worth trying. I would seriously consider applying a drop or two of 3-in-one oil into the blade holder and/or checking to see if perhaps a microscopic bit of material isn't lodged in there, preventing the blade from freely spinning. That's happened to me more than once, and it results in tears instead of clean cuts.

Ready to Apply Graphics, Instructions and a Waiver??
slice&dice replied to motoxchic's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
You provided the tutorial in person, so they should be OK. This isn't rocket science. As for a written disclaimer, don't worry about it. If they mess it up, they'll blame themselves, not you, and pay for the replacement without any argument (especially if you provide a "dumb-ass" discount !!) http://www.greenplaque.com/media/support/STICKER-INSTALLATION-INSTRUCTIONS-2011.pdf Easy 6-step illustrated instructions (pdf format) -

There's nothing like the exhilaration and feeling of accomplishment when you get the first cut done successfully!!! Seeing that machine whir to life and the carriage starts jumping back and forth is a real rush, we've all experienced it. What do you intend to use the cutter for mainly? -
New Website for Cutter setup
slice&dice replied to BannerJohn's topic in Community Rules & Announcements
Slight bone to pick. In the SC Cutter setup video, at 10:35, the on-screen instruction illustrates loading the vinyl into the cutter, but directly after that, the tutorial says "then, turn on the machine" --- however, this is totally incorrect. Because the blade is resting down in contact with the cutting strip when the unit is off, if you attempt to load vinyl before turning the SC on, the vinyl will be scratched/cut. The proper instruction should have been stated as -- "ALWAYS turn on the cutter before attempting to load vinyl" -

You are most welcome. By the way, when unzipping that archived file, you'll notice two SBE installers. One is the regular v.6 which you'll go ahead and install first, and then do the same with the UK version. Afterwards, apply the patch to eliminate the start-up "nag" screens (gets rid of the Trial and Registration reminders). Since there isn't a Registration scheme anymore on this software (it's considered Abandonware at this point, since the developer/creator has unfortunately died) you can carry the installers around on a thumbnail drive and place the application onto whatever machines you wish. I've even given it to friends, they use it as a stand-alone graphic app to make advertising flyers and birthday cards. -
Whomever you purchased your Mimaki from will provide all relevant tech support and instructions. I can offer one piece of advice -- you'll need lots of room for this equipment and plenty of workspace.

Welcome, Judy. First order of business, unlock your caps. Second, SignBlazer Elements can be downloaded HERE -- http://www.mystat.com/Signblazer.zip Third, your Desay Master 380P is listed in the SBE cutter setup list. Fourth, have a blessed week yourself, and let us know how things are going for you... -
I wonder if the client is font-savvy enough to notice a slight difference between the actual Migrate font and the Lithograph Light?
-
JINAN KING is the manufacturer, so I would even be tempted to try the King drivers.
-
This is a better link -- http://www.mystat.com/Signblazer.zip
-
Lithograph Light is pretty close (SignBlazer standard font)
-
Not sure I understand this thread.

What a corny thread.

Welcome to the group. I don't think your cutter even supports contour cutting. That function is designed for machines that have a laser-light feature and is used exclusively for cutting around printed decals. If you wish to set the ORIGIN of the material (adjust the cutter head and the relative vinyl position) then use the buttons on the cutter control panel itself.

I want to buy and learn Adobe to use with Signblazer, which one should I get?
slice&dice replied to odokie's topic in Adobe Illustrator
Honestly, it's almost worthwhile to just work inside of Flexi and accomplish everything you need with fonts right inside that application.
