Honestly, a re-install of SignBlazer using the link I provided (or from USCUTTER's download page) will likely get this resolved in five minutes, http://support.uscutter.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/GetAttachment/190/24198

Jokerwood isn't one of the standard SBE installed fonts. However, it's located within the system FONT folder located inside the WINDOWS folder on your old computer's hard drive. Easy enough, just copy that font itself onto a USB thumbnail and then transfer by dragging it into the FONT folder on your laptop. The font will have a TT (truetype)-- SignBlazer doesn't recognize the ones with an O (open type)

Hi Diane, I notice you are a SignBlazer user. Me too.

* bump * Looking through the SignBlazerElements (UK) list of machines, nothing in there shows "Seiki" (sk870t) -- what's the alternative cutter brand name to use for it? I know usually Roland drivers work OK for a lot of different cutters, but is there something more specific to this unit?

Have some patience, there are a few font gurus around this place who might come up with something.

Whydontcha' ask yer momma !! WhatFontIs.com simply choked on it -- (After editing it to obtain a better resolution & contrast, WFI still couldn't I.D. it)

How did you start to get customers?

I used to charge less for window installs, until a customer came to me with a competitor's job quote and asked if I could beat their price (they wanted $175) -- I said, sure, no problem, and put together the 18" x 24" decal for $150. and went over and applied it in fifteen minutes. Here is the chiropractic caduceus .eps for those who needed it. chiropractic.EPS -
16.5 x 5.5 = $11 each 13.5 x 13.5 = $14 Tell him he owes you a lunch, too.

Canon and Konica-Minolta have several units that compete with Oki. Color small-run printing is all about consumables (toner and drums) == according to the Oki specs, they are claiming a low total cost of ownership. Another consideration is determining how you plan on cutting full-printed sheets into card-sized sections.

I would go bananas if my cutter always returned to the Start point --- that's just plain wrong. Here's what I would do to troubleshoot this ==== Install the latest version of SignBlazer (UK) from this link, and then make sure you're using the RedSail driver.RS720C. http://www.mystat.com/Signblazer.zip

I decided to start this thread after losing a job last week to another local sign-maker, who proceeded to put up a sign that is totally useless. When first approached by the business owner, I told him to go with a 4'x8' sign based on the far distance from the main road that it would be seen from. I quoted him a great price for it (under $300, installed, using green MaxMetal). Today, I drove by and noticed he had another guy make a 24" x 60" sign. It's wayyyyyyy little for the spot, and on top of the sign size being too miniscule, the lettering is also smaller than it should be at that distance. Anyone want to chime in with other examples of signs they've seen that are basically not doing what they are supposed to?

The issue I was addressing isn't directly related to the limit-switch contact problem being discussed in this thread. What I had been referring to is the small set-screw on the rear rail of the machine, which stops the right-hand pressure roller assembly as it slides over. That screw placement apparently was incorrectly engineered, and it's been placed by the factory too far to the right, with the result of that first pressure roller failing to come into contact with the lower grit roller. I have no idea if the Chinese manufacturer ever corrected the problem (and I doubt they did). That means every owner of the SC needs to be aware of this defect, and either move the set-screw themselves over to the left a bit, or simply not slide the pressure rollers all the way until they hit that set-stop location. http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?/topic/36439-liyu-sc-gets-up-and-running-my-1st-impressions/?p=283267 Blue arrow = where the roller needs to be, in order to make contact with the grit roller Green arrow = where the roller will end up if you use the set-screw position (no contact with grit roller)

Is your blade being placed within the rear holder position, and the pen in the front?
-
Yup, sure can. Just increase the pressure. I have the SC unit set to 10g for regular vinyl It goes as high as 800g. Plenty of downforce for mylar. (Of course, it will likely dull your blades quickly, but that's another issue)

http://www.inkscape.org -- Has a vector trace engine built-in. If you want to create a GUI for autotrace, that would be interesting to see. Go for it.
