  1. For what it's worth, the other day I attempted to cut a decal using some of the free 3M samples I got and had similar results, although not quite so severe.  The vinyl lifted up quite a bit around tight cuts to the point that the decal I was cutting wouldn't be usable.  I put 651 in and cut the same decal with no issues.

Same experience here. Perhaps it's due to my limitations or maybe the quality of the sample. I have not had a decent cut with the free 3M on detailed cuts.

So even though I am new it is looking more and more like maybe a vinyl issue thanks

  2. OK thanks for all the help that is what I was thinking.  I just tried a pretty good size decal and it seemed to cut it fine.  No lifting at all.  Then I tried text and although not as bad as the one in the photo it still lifted?  It was just a sample, guess I won't be going with that LOL...

  4. I did a search and couldn't find any.  I am having trouble trying to create a border around a license plate.  Problem may be I am new LOL.

I tried the library in SB but there is none with out some type of added design to it?

I found a template for the plate itself that's great, is there any for a border to go around one thanks Bill?

  5. You should set the offset at or really close to what is marked on the blade container.  Not sure what 60 degree blades are but it should be marked.

That's interesting never knew that I just looked at the case for the 60 degree roland blades for my P-cut and it say .025mm thanks for the info

  6. I have been spending some time today looking at decals on ebay and it seems there is a ton of folks selling copyrighted material, is it that ebay doesn't do anything about it?  I saw Harley Davidson, John Deere, BMW, NY Yankees, and the list can go on and on.  Whats your take on this....

  7. My taping table is a large glass table with a light underneath.. I just use that with no registration marks.. I have installed wet on the substrate before with multiple colors but for ones I'm not installing I just layer it dry using my light table

That's a great Idea thanks I have a glass kitchen table LOL.  I guess I somehow could stick a light underneath and make it work the 1 or 2 times I may need to do that...

  8. Very Nice Design!

Im new to vinyl cutting and im doing my research now before i buy my machine.I already do and sell graphic work and ive had request for cars and plates.

I want to ask you what material you are using for your plates also if not to much to ask what other materials can be used. Are those stickers or vinyl?

I think I am to new to give any advise,  but the plate I did for my daughter was oracal 651.  I am sure some of the folks that do it a lot will jump in?
