SignBlazer help please
Jay2703 replied to proline20's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I tried to open it but nothing showed up either. I could insert it into a word document to see what it looks like. I will usually use Vector Magic to vectorize jpg's and other graphic file types instead of Inkscape. http://vectormagic.stanford.edu/ Go to this site, Browse to the file location, select your file and hit upload. It walks you through some questions (Multiple choice with 2 or 3 options and graphics to explain) about your image that are pretty self explanitory. It will turn your image into a .eps file that you download to your computer. Import it into SignBlazer. Like anything else the cleaner your graphics are going in the better they come out. Give it a try. -
SignBlazer help please
Jay2703 replied to proline20's topic in Creation PCUT Cutting Plotter Support Requests
You typically just do a file + Import and select the Full Postscript option. Post one of the .eps files so we can look at it. -
You can use the Manipulate + Expand/Outline

How do I setup the software for a multi color logo cut job
Jay2703 replied to eroyer's topic in SignBlazer
Here is how mine would look. Black on bottom Then White except two small peices on left side (yellow so it shows up) Then Red Then grey I would put the two little white peices on the very last. -
I would hate to have to weed that one.

How do I setup the software for a multi color logo cut job
Jay2703 replied to eroyer's topic in SignBlazer
I would start with the black on the bottom. It will have no cutouts. Then I would do the red then the gray and finally the white. You could also do the white so it is solid under the red. In that case I would do the white second except the white on the picture. -
A little help with my new PCUT and the SB Software?
Jay2703 replied to Quig's topic in General discussion
It sounds like the issue is more with the font than the offset. There are all kinds of little pieces hanging off the letters. One thing you could try is select your text and do an Arrange + Convert to Curves. (like it sounds it converts the text to curve elements) Then use the Node Edit function and you can clean up some of the junk. You can select and delete individual nodes or trap around them. After converting to curves, Arrange + Split Objects is another thing. That would work like you were talking about with the Ungroup where you can select things to delete. -
I quote based on the time and materials involved in doing the job. If it is going to take me more time, I am going to charge more.

You can find all the adds on: www.myspace.com/superbowlads My favorites were the Bud Lite breathing fire and the Planters Nuts ad,

lol....i have a question about if something can be done
Jay2703 replied to gogetemgraphix's topic in Off Topic Section
I think if you change your material size in cutter setup to what you actually have it will split you job into multiple peices. I would change it to your smallest piece. I tried it in mine and it shows areas labeled 1 to 6 each the size of what I set my material to. I am assuming that once you cut the first one it will allow you to load your next peice of material and go on to number two. Maybe Jerry from SignBlazer can explain better. -
What do you mean by wavey? Do you mean follow a curve? One way is to select the text then do a Node Edit. Some dots will show up that you can drag around to move each letter.

I think it's kind of a personal preference thing. I like having the "Each copy" to make them easier to weed when I am done.

Try looking on their download site: http://support.uscutter.com/index.php?_m=downloads&_a=view

Computer doesn't recognize cutter
Jay2703 replied to Momster's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
What software are you using and which cutter do you have? Are you trying to connect with USB or Serial? -
I had the same issues with mine. I finally switched to the Serial cable that came with it and haven't had a problem since. It was the best thing I have done so far.

How can you open a vector file thats not a sign blazer one?
Jay2703 replied to unkes60's topic in SignBlazer
Try File + Import. You should be able to see it there. -
Does anyone know what kind of file Embroidery applications use. One of my customers told me they want $80 do digitize his logo for embroidery on some shirts and hats. Does this sound like a fair price? It seems like some of you have mentioned embroidery as a sideline.

hmm helllllllllp before i pull my hair out lol
Jay2703 replied to laserman70's topic in Graphic Requests
If it's in SignBlazer you can just Edit + Select All (or select individual elements) then select a color down in the bottom color palett and it will change everything to that color. No need to export out then back in. -
I did it in SignBlazer I Imported it into SignBlazer I did an Arrange + Split Objects I selected each letter and changed the color I moved the letters up out if the way I did a selection box around what is left, (Background and some cutouts) I did an Arrange + Combine. Exported back to EPS Xtreme2.EPS

If you have "Weed all" and "Weed Each copy" both checked in the cut window you will get both weedings.

Whats the most efficient size cutter to get when buying for first time
Jay2703 replied to juniorranger's topic in Pre-sale questions
Just because you have a 24" cutter doesn't mean you always have to use 24" wide vinyl. I have a 24" but use mostly 15" wide. If I only use 8" of the 15" width I could still trim it at 8" and use the other 7" on something else.
