  1. Mahalo Skeeter! Just tested it, and it's all good. Hmm, I wonder why it's never been an issue before I know I've seen the issue posted before, and I tried searching like crazy, but whatever I was using to search was not giving me to right thread Now I just need to fix the squiggly line
  2. So the adventure is turning out to be gift that keeps on giving. I managed to borrow a friend's blade holder, and the humming (more or less) went away - yea! But now there's a new issue where when I do a test cut for force, out of the 3 triangle and boxes it does, the first triangle has a short little cut at the bottom. I've replicated over and over again. The weird thing is if I put the stock blade holder back in, it will do that little triangle line on all three triangles. I'm sure y'all have some wisdom that you'll be be able share so that I can just get this machine working the way it used to. It is also intermittently doing a tiny curve thing at the start or end of a cut, but it doesn't do it to all of them. I laid it out as two decals in a single run, and sometimes it will do it, and sometimes not. Sometimes on just one of the two. I've checked the nodes and there isn't anything that should be causing this squiggly.
  3. Well, then I can honestly say that I am not looking forward to Win11. I do know that at some point I will have to install and get familiar with, since a lot of the calls I field are more help desk level, but for now, I'm kind of content tell people that I don't have Win11, so I can't do any walk-throughs on how to remedy what it broke
  4. You're brave. The Win11 update has been sitting in my updates for a while ... still reluctant to do it
  5. Welcome to the forum. If you register as a member, you will not need to wait for a moderator to approve your post. Check the comport setting in your software to make sure it wants to thensend the job to the port that Windows assigned to your cutter.
  6. Ugh! That would be the one thing that I should have a spare of, but don't. I will get one ordered pronto, while I await a response from Graphtec support

Do a quick troll on YouTube and search for videos on how to layer vinyl.

    S&a creations

Aloha and welcome to the forum. If you take the time to register for it, your post will go up immediately, and registration is simple and free. I would help us to know what model cutter you have, or can you ask the person that you purchased it from?

    Clear Transfer Tape

Unfortunately, there might not be a 'perfect clear tape.' It's all about function and personal preference. Lots of user's here get the same results using different brand of tape. I'm not quite sure if I understand you correctly. After taping up your top layer, you are unable to remove the backing from the newly taped top layer?

    Greetings

Layers. Have you tried to ungroup it in VM and see if there are multiple instances of the graphic sitting one on top another?

activation of software is covered in this video
  12. vector you image, and you should have an outline that is cut ready
  13. haumana

    Why not correct?

Have you submitted a trouble ticket to VM?
  14. Thank you for keeping us updated. Glad that a fairly simple fix worked for you. The machines can be quite durable, but finicky at the same time. Some people have static issues, and some don't. If you're still willing, I would still consider getting the Graphtec. You won't be sorry you did, I know I wasn't.
  15. Get the 7000, but definitely hold on to the 6000.
  16. I'm a hobbyist with my cutters, and have always been a hobbyist (for 15+ years) . My original cutter was a LaserPoint (original), and then upgraded to a Graphtec about 3 years ago. Trust me, when I say, do the upgrade. Yes, it's an expense, but I also know that the stuff that I cut with my LaserPoint has paid for Graphtec long time ago. My only regret - I didn't get the Graphtec sooner. My original LaserPoint is still working, but the Graphtec works so much quicker, quieter, and more accurately.
  17. @New2022 If you don't mind, please keep us posted with your experience with the new (and improved) CE7000.
  18. If you can manage to find someone's New Old Stock of a CE6000 series, that might be worth looking into.

New to the forum and to vinyl...

Aloha and welcome to the forum. Outside of the pending roller issue, the Graphtecs are solid machines.
  21. Make sure the correct comport is selected in your software.

You can recolor your white stripes to something else, you're using will vectorize it, or just add your own line pre or post vectorizing.

    New Here

I am fortunate to have an old mirror mounted to a door that's next to my cutters. I use it as my cutter notebook. I have the speed and force settings written on them, for each machine, and the different types of vinyl that I'm cutting.
