First off - GOOD LUCK! Tell her to praise your intelligence, because you weren't stupid enough to buy another brand that would have easily cost you 5x what you paid for your cutter.

How many use pricing software?
haumana replied to Benr98's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
Not screwing - frugal. At least if I was some Richie Rich, that what I would call it. For now, I'm a poor working stuff. -
I agree with you there, but after a couple of questions to the forum, and a little deductive thinking, I was able to figure it out. Here are a couple of pictures of how I have it setup for my machine. One word of caution - the rollers need to go on during the stand assembly, as they cannot be removed - only moved back and forth. Good luck. Let me know if you need more pictures.

That sounds like SBE is seeing different levels to cut (I don't know what the technical term would be). I'm still a relative newbie myself, but I used to have the same problem. I found out there there some "white" spaces that were adding to SBE, but wasn't visible. I usually end up doing some kind of "weld" (punch through or total). You can also post your question to the Sign Blazer forum. http://www.signblazer.net/forum/index.php Good luck.

Makes me want to run out and find a heat press!

Those are really great explanations. I didn't know what exactly the offset did either - thanks goodness my cutter didn't require any tweaking beyond pressure to get it all setup. whewie!

You do not need to access anything under the red carriage cover to install the blade (and holder). Insert the blade into the holder and adjust it so that it just barely sticks out (it took me some playing with the depth to achieve the right about of blade to expose for the proper cutting depth). Insert the blade holder in the collar that is on the rights side of the carriage. The sliver screw is what you use to loosen and tighten the collar to hold it securely in place. You're going to love your LaserPoint when you get it all setup. Good luck.

I hope that someone can answer this for you. I haven't done any signs for my friend just yet. But we are really good friends, and we pretty much use each other's services here and there, and we don't charge each other. She's towed my vehicle after a bad accident on the freeway, she's towed many of my families vehicles, and I pretty much work on any and all of her computers. It's a nice trade, since there are times where I know that I have way more time than money.

:santahat: So what were some of the better presents that Santa brought to some of your naughty'n'nice boys and girls? :present: :snow:

Hello, need some advice on which model to purchase.
haumana replied to Tucker's topic in Pre-sale questions
That's what I originally wanted, but since I could find room for the 36", I opted for the 24" LaserPoint. The widest vinyl I have is 15" and I'm all good with that. There were a few times that I wouldn't have minded bigger vinyl, but then I thought ... that's a lot of vinyl to weed. If it's any consolation, I'm totally happy with my cutter. -
I have the fish, but I don't have time to vecotirze it.

Hello, need some advice on which model to purchase.
haumana replied to Tucker's topic in Pre-sale questions
I'm a hobbiest too. I posed the same question on this board and was basically told that if it's within the budget, then the Copam is the way to go ... but since I live out in a non-serviceable area, I opted for the 24" LaserPoint. I purchased it on eBay. If you purchase direct, you get a longer warranty. I think any of the US Cutter plotters will do the job for you. Feel free to check out some of the posting on the individual model bulletins and the "Show your work" bulletin. Good luck. -
you need to have an application that can open that file extension (i.e. Illustrator, SBE, Fireworks, etc.) If you attach your .eps file here, some one would be more than willing to convert it to a .jpg or .gif for you to view.

some of the problem is because your original image files are small. Not a whole lot to work with when they're that size. You can download and use Inkscape. I'm a total newbie to Inkscape too, but many here swear by it. It's free, and there is even a bulleting board on this forum dedicated to it.

Mele Kalikimaka to all! :santahat:

PM Ken, and you can also post this in the support request board. To me, it doesn't sound like a power/usb/computer issue - it sounds like it's all cutter.

Have you tried Vector Magic already? If you're got squiggly lines when you vectorized it, let us know what program you used - so that way we don't spin our wheels by duplicating what you already tried.
-
So it does turn on? You get power to the plotter, but it's non-functional?

Good to know! :thanks:
