At least you did the smart thing ... picked it up for free from the neighbor. I am ashamed to admit that I bought most of my under utilized and under appreciated exercise stuff. My brother scooped a free Crossbow from the neighbor (putting on the curb). He has yet to use it. Says that he's missing a bolt used to keep the bench in the up-storage position - I told him that the Crossbow doesn't work when the bench is in the up position. He laughed then asked when was the last time I was on my Crossbow. I stopped laughing immediately I was thinking that since a lot of professional athletes us imagery and another component in their training program, and that they swear that it really helps improve what their doing, I thought I would imagine myself on the dreadmill ... while I sit on my couch and drink my ice cold can of Coke Hey, maybe we should start an exercise thread, to help keep us motivated ... or so I can lurk and read about how you guys stay motivated

Application tape on the outside of the roll, backing on the inside.

It is possible. It will be under File: Import. The best thing you could do is have the eps file be vectorized already, then you just need to import, make any necessary adjustments (size, etc.), then send it to the cutter. If you don't have it already vectorized, you can either vector it using software such as Inkscape (open source and free!), or a paid service such as Vector Magic. If you get Sign Blazer Elements, it does have a vectorizing feature, but there aren't too many here that really use it. Good luck.

Anyone out there can recommend a decent book or video for me to read up. I want to teach myself php and mysql. I need to build up my skill set ... bigger, faster, better.

If you're willing to share, I'm willing to accept

Isn't that an oxymoron?

Here's a minor rant thread. You can list some of the more trivial things that irritate you in life - knowing that if a little common sense was exercised life would be so much better. You're not allowed to put down stuff like, "end world hunger." I'll start ... Life would be so much better if ... ... the person standing in front of you at the bank already has their deposit slipped all filled out. ... old folks in grocery stores would move their carts to the side when they walk away to look at something. (I think you guys get the idea )

ebay: new policies?
haumana replied to JoeCamaro's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
eBay sucks! I wish they didn't have such a monopoly on being a auction site. -

... there was a law that allowed for legal screening of licensed drivers after the age of 65. Heaven knows that some of them just aren't fit to drive on the road now days.

I'd put all my music on disc and listen to it on my way to paddling practice. I labeled the disc, "Paddling Trash". It helped to motivate me to stay positive in the canoe while I steered and tried to keep the other paddlers on track. I definitely helped with a LOT of my practices, especially since that was the only exercise I was getting

I currently use my Vaio laptop with SBE for my LP. I've been considering purchasing another cutting software to install on my monster box and was wondering if I should just get another copy of SBE, since that's what I'm using now, or if I should try one of the other ones (Flexi Starter or SignCut X-2) - since they all seem to be competitively priced. Just wanted to know what your guys thoughts are.

setting up laser cutter
haumana replied to joebiv318's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Support Requests
Honestly, it still sounds like a surge or spike got to your equipment while you were out. The equipment doesn't need to be on to be effected, it just needs to be plugged it. If you had your PC and/or cutter plugged into a surge protector and/or UPS, then there's a chance that's bad too (it can still work, it just won't function up to the original specs). You don't think it's odd that two pieces of electronic equipment decided to wink out on you at the same time? It can even be a brown out. Could be a power strip went bad, could be a UPS went bad, could just be a LOT of static electricity in the room. Anytime there's a power outage here, one of the first things I do is run around the house and unplug all power strips that have sensitive and/or expensive equipment on it - including the UPS I run. Keep us updated. BTW - If you want to try to "save" your old HP, you can just by a power supply and do the swap yourself. Just know that HP's are not ATX, so the power supply probably won't fit very nicely, but you will be able to get it to work. Dirt cheap power supplies can be had for less than $20. -

Try setting it from LP to PCut and see if that helps. Can't ever guaranty anything, but it couldn't hurt ... what's the worst that can happen?? it's not like there's good communication between the PC and cutter right now. -
I have a dreadmill too. At first I was all gung-ho. Then when I would check the approximate calories burned while I was on it ... it just seemed like a huge waste of time. Since we've moved, it has been blocked in the designated "workout" room (the itty-bitty room in the basement). There's is next to no incentive to unblock it ... until I either install a tv in the workout room (which will probably then turn into a tv room) or a decent stereo. I've tried to do stuff with my ipod, but I'm usually less inclined to clip it to myself, or the head wires just keep on getting in my say. I love my music ... old school, new school and just about everything in between. The perfect workout music for me is either one that keeps a good beat, or one that is somewhat (mildly) inspiring or fun to listen to ... or a combination of both. If I had to choose between a tv or a stereo, I'd definitely go stereo. Someone once told me that he considered a tv "the dumb box." You sit, watch, and your brain cells slowly die off While I may not kill brain cells when I watch tv, I am less inclined to do anything productive

Want your opinion about cutting software ...
haumana replied to haumana's topic in General discussion
Exactly. I have never had any trouble with my SBE either but I too saw the post about closing cuts better. It has me curious. SBE is all I have ever used and i really like it, but if there is another program that will make my cuts look better I am interested in looking at it. I especially don't care for how some of my text cuts. It is my only complaint. -

SBE has worked for me ... only because that's what Ken recommended when I bought my LP, and it's the only software I have that can interface with the cutter. I was considering other stuff because there was a post about SBE not quite closing the cuts and when this person downloaded and used the trial version of Signcut X-2, it managed to finish all the cuts on the money. While I finally have my SBE setup so that there is no (knock on wood) issues with my LP, I still lurk in the LP bulletin boards and see how much trouble everyone is having with SBE (probably because that's what shipped). Others here have nothing but good stuff to say about Flexi & Sign Cut. I figured if I'm going to buy another license of some kind of cutting software, it couldn't hurt to consider what else is out there. I could you a little more cross training to add to my skill set.
