If you look directly above the center roller there is a white bracket or upside down "u" mark... you cannot have the center roller under any portion of it... Note, look from the front of the machibe to see this. messaged you on Facebook.

Is one of the pinch rollers on the center bearing of the feed roller in the middle. ?.

The tips of my A's are lifting, advice?
vinylmotivations replied to motoxchic's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I run on 20 a lot at shows so I don't have customers waiting- with 751 though I often only am at 11 for pressure... I would check your blade depth. -
I have a customer that is completely unable to understand what they are doing and doesn't know how to export this file so that I can open it with Corel.. Mind you, I CAN import it, but it comes in broken up and not quite right. Can someone flatten/rasterize this artwork at full size for me and send it back somehow? Thanks! https://www.dropbox.com/s/p0wf5guuelmj1oe/10X3ft%20banner2_12_13.ai

Assuming you're using cutting master and corel, there should be a cutoff selection in the advanced settings. However if there is no blade loaded in the cutoff head then it won't accomplish anything.

I have used the Mactac 8900 and Oracal 631. 631 is STILL my go-to vinyl. Mactac DOES have a few colors that used to be not otherwise offered (Burgundy) but now Oracal has it. I like the Oracal better only because I can use my RLA R-tape transfer without any issues with it. The RLA Tape on mactac tends to want to peel horribly all by itself. I have a 10yd roll of mactac 8900 burgundy if anyone wants it! 20$ plus cost of shipping- no more than 5$ or I will pay the rest.

Unfortunately my problem is the pictures, however they are- their divided into a dozen pieces when importing the eps I DO have. I can't even re-align them well. I appreciate the help. I downloaded a trial of CS6 and am going to see if I can get at it that way. -

Its actually for a printed banner. Not cutting this. Yes the annotation would need removed. I can send the font to anyone that needs it to open the file. http://fontzone.net/font-details/MyriadPro-Regular/ Font at this link. -

First Impressions, The day after installing SCAL Pro
vinylmotivations posted a topic in Sure Cuts A Lot Pro
First of all I wanted to thank Marcus and USCutter for allowing not only senior members of the forum, but also a few others of us to try out and review their new flagship software Sure Cuts A Lot Pro. A more thorough review is to follow after learning the ins-and-outs of the software as well as after putting the software through its paces. This will serve as my at a glance, list of first impressions. I will start out by saying I was and to a degree still am unsure if this software is really for me and daily use in a business environment. Time will tell. Also there are a few issues that I will cover that a few folks have already addressed here on the forums. Pros and Cons. Pros - Appears to be very basic, and simple. Shapes, lines and text are VERY easy to create as well as line up utilizing the grid pattern and carrier sheet style design. - Opens fast, appears stable and doesn't appear to eat up much for system resources, so it doesn't look like you'll need to have a top-of-the-line machine to run this software. - Menus and buttons are few and well laid out, although there are a few things I would LIKE to see (covered in a bit) there is not a surplus of buttons to confuse or scare a new user away from the software. Inkscape, Corel and Illustrator can be VERY intimidating to a new user with 18 buttons down the right side, dockers, windows and other miscellaneous buttons etc. along the top. - Functions such as Rhinestones and a very capable auto-trace function that are both very easy to use make this good starter software to ship with a cutter to provide a full solution. - Cutter options - Offset and over-cut are easy to set, as well as a WYSIWYG or Origin style placement when cutting. Also cut by color options to allow for layering and multi-color projects. Multi-cut also allows setting up for multiple passes for thicker media and contour cutting through backing when using a carrier sheet. - Pages - Have multiple files open at a time on different workspaces to accommodate multiple jobs at a time or one master project from several other project files. - Weeding tools - In a different location than say, SignCut- but very useable and function... easily. Cons - EPS Support, according to what I have read, this is coming- agreeably this is kind of a big deal, and important to have as something archaic like Signblazer elements had this, but for a first release, this is still very promising software. - Tools, font windows and other items aren't dock-able.... having dock-able windows gives a more pleasant workspace use experience that doesn't allow things to hide behind one-another. Granted once laid out, you can save your workspace, but also to re-save your workspace you must FIRST delete the old saved configuration, and then re-save it. - Zoom functions leave things to be desired, as a few other members have suggested (zoom to selected, zoom to drawing, etc...) - No option to have nodes visible 100% of the time or when selecting with the node editing tool. The only time nodes are visible is when in "Preview" mode. Please correct me if I am wrong. In summary there are a few things I would like to see, learn, or put an emphasis on. 1. File support. EPS, CDR (Corel, maybe? or not..) 2. Better zooming options (Zoom to selected, or Zoom to drawing at the very least) 3. Options to make nodes more visible, other than in just preview mode so they can be seen when editing with the node tools. 4. Expanded shape library, more like what we saw in SBE For those of you looking for the 3.035 Patch, it can be found here at http://www.craftedge.com/bin/SetupSureCutsALotPro_3_035.exe More info to come as I tear into using SCAL Pro and put it to the test! Thanks!~ Matt Owner/Designer @ Vinyl Motivations -
Just a friendly reminder to everyone- be mindful of what you purchase and order online as well as when you get it, be sure that it is LEGIT.. I recently picked up a copy of CorelDraw X6 on our favorite auction site, as there are lots available for affordable prices for "academic" use. I purchased one from someone that seems to sell alot of them and has high feedback ratings. I got it, and it installed- and installed correctly. It works! right? NO>... logging into corel's website it tells me online content and updates ARE NOT available because my registration cannot be validated- Come to find out this seller has been selling copies with the SAME key for months! I will upload pictures here in a bit- because this is a GREAT bootleg, down to being either an original corel DVD OR a custom ordered stamped and printed disc (it's not just burned...) Corel is working with me on getting a LEGIT copy, for a price, and I am working with them on getting this sellers' info to them.... http://myworld.ebay....E:X:RTQ:US:1181

Who does the full color window "wraps" (that you can see thru)?
vinylmotivations replied to OWJones's topic in Business Practices, Sales and Pricing, etc.
I can help you too, my buddy that prints my madness has finally gotten his stuff together and running. all of his perforated and car stuff is all laminated as well. -
Just cut it as is. This is called tunnelling and is normal with some vinyls especially specialty and mylar based films. It should and most likely will be fine. Just keep it clean and dry...

Application on Painted Concrete Block
vinylmotivations replied to tammy h's topic in General discussion
You would probably have to paint that block with some sort of paint designed for sealing basement walls- it is VERY thick, and would seal all of the pores so you could adhere to. -
http://www.nextengine.com/ This is probably what you're referring to....

Problems w Graphtec Very choppy, horrible cuts :(
vinylmotivations replied to twocents's topic in GraphTec Cutting Plotter Discussion
If you look at the strip under the blade, is it at all scratched or chewed up? Also if you're lifting vinyl, the pressure is probably too high or the blade is sticking. Try lubricating the blade with some 3 in 1 or dry graphite to make sure the blade is rotating inside the holder. Also, with the age of the cutter, the blade holder could possibly be bad and worn out. Using my machines, the pressure is often between 11-15 depending on thickness of the media. I can run as fast as I like without issue. Slower for smaller detail of course. -
First Impressions
vinylmotivations replied to Monkey's topic in USCutter Equipment Feedback or Suggestions
The serial port only communicates or does something when told to, it doesn't work like USB and recognise something when you plug it in- so you have to be sure that drivers are installed for the chipset on your main board for it to work and that it is configured properly. -
GreenStar Layflat Classic Transfer Tape - Medium Tack
vinylmotivations replied to ruffhuff's topic in General discussion
I hated the greenstar tape. I use Rtape myself. -
Basically, in the node editing you must first break both paths, so that each segment is open, then join the proper ones.
