Bryank930 1 Posted January 9, 2020 I'm looking for the closest vinyl to blaze orange (hunting) that I can find that will last outdoors on a vehicle window. Oracal 7510 orange is pretty much dead on, but will fade quickly outside. Next closest I found in my Orafol book is 651 pastel orange. Any other options that will hold up to being on a vehicle window?

darcshadow 1,626 Posted January 11, 2020 That's just the nature of florescent colors. They use UV light to get that color and as a result they break down faster than other colors. I looked into it once, it's fascinating how florescent colors work.
cdasoftball 0 Posted January 26, 2020 I'm kind of new to this industry but could you use a UV laminate to extend the color life of it?
darcshadow 1,626 Posted January 27, 2020 The problem with colors like that is they need UV light to get that color. If you block the UV light you will not have the same color. They absorb UV light and radiate it back at visible wave length. Block the UV and they can only reflect back visible light so it'll still have an orange color, but it will not be the same bright orange you're looking for.
