Word of mouth is usually the easiest and cheapest way. eBay is a good alternative. Show up to some of the events, hand out free decals, put your name and number on the back of the decal so they know how to contact you. If you have some really great designs, then maybe full-sheet or half-sheet flyers with some thumbnails of the design on it. Provide some kind of discount to "first-time" clients, etc. Good luck.

I too, am vectorizing challenged. Try the Vector Magic website. It's fast and free. http://vectormagic.stanford.edu/

If you have the raster version of it, it would be faster for others to vectorize it for you. This was done in Vector Magic. NCHA_Horse_web.eps NCHA_Horse_web.eps

I knew who General Grievous was - does that make me a geek? That's really hard to find. And even if you can find an image on google, it's either too small or not a straight on shot. These are 3 raster images. I wish I had time to try and vectorize them for you, but at least this is a starting point. Good luck! grievous.zip grievous.zip

Blade Pressure, Speed, Offset, etc.
haumana replied to Larryc39's topic in LaserPoint Cutting Plotter Discussion
I can't recall what the default pressure was, but after some trial by fire (and a lot of vinyl for testing), I finally settled at a pressure of 65. The other settings I just left alone. I'm sure there are others here that can best guide you as to the pro's and con's of using different values for each option. I am more of the mindset, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." ... but then again I'm a total newbie to cutting. Good luck. -
Here's a thread that someone else started about the subject. If you use the search feature on this forum, you'd discover all kinds of anwers http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?topic=2815.0

Check out this thread ... http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?topic=2732.0 You might want to try and contact Grashopr for any insight. Usually the members here are very helpful and supportive. Good luck.

Okay, let's try to work this one issue at a time. Is SBE still locking up for you? If so, then you should probably do a complete uninstallation, shut down, wait a couple of minutes, then reboot and reinstall. If SBE is working and not locking-up any more, then try checking the depth of the blade. I went through some serious vinyl until I could figure out just the right depth, and the just the right pressure. If the blade sits a little too low, then it can cause the 'slashing' that you're experiencing. I had a lot of slashing while trying to get my LP to just the right configuration. Other things that might be worth checking: When SBE is in the cut mode screen, click on setting and make sure that th plotter selected is the PCut and not any other plotter (as that was one of the problems that I ran into). If you are connected via USB, make sure that it's plugged-in directly to the computer and not thru a hub (some people have success with hubs, many do not). If you are connected via serial, make sure that the settings on the plotter (ie. baud, etc.) are identical on both the plotter and the computer. right now those are the things I would look into. It seems a little mental in the beginning, but once you successfully scratch the surface life will be good and then you'll be thinking of all kinds of stuff to put decals on. Good luck.

Were you able to save your file to .dxf and import to Sign Blazer? -
Problem cutting vectorized & imported .bmp as .eps
haumana replied to Rufus Xs's topic in General discussion
That same issue used to make me completely mental too. If you look at the top left of the screen you'll see there are two arrows, one that's highlighted, and the other with a red slash mark going thru it. What is on your screen is only the punch out of the graphic, and not the whole graphic itself. If you highlight the other arrow you will most likely see the correct graphic you want to cut. It took me a while to figure it out. Anyway, to remedy that situation these are the steps that I take - there is probably a better or faster way, but I don't know it. 1) highlight your graphic, goto ARRANGE > WELD > PUNCH (NOT TOTAL). 2) deselect everything (click anywhere blank in the workspace. 3) single (left click) on the center triangle (the punched hole). 4) delete it. Your graphic shouldn't have changed in appearance. If you then go to the cut mode screen, you should only have one arrow and it should be highlighted. You should be ready to cut! Hope this helps. Good luck! -
So I've read here and there on this forum that some of you use a light box to help with the weeding process. Is there an alternative for people like me who will most likely never use my cutter for professional reasons? I've been sitting down at my coffee table, squinting (I'm sure this is probably the fastest way to a new prescription for my eyes ), and using my handy dandy x-acto (all the while trying very hard not to poke myself with it) :-.

You just keep one eye on that rear view mirror so that the pinto would turn into pyro.

If you have Nero or some other kind of burning software you should be able to double click the the iso file and it should open up your burner application so that it will burn the "image" and not as a simple data file.

glad you found some kind of band-aid. i'm sure that people will be posting patches and fixes as we go along.

hard to beleive a customer asks for support and is basicly called a thief
haumana replied to Reefkeeper04901's topic in Pre-sale questions
Why are you bothering to put this trash thread on the this forum? Even if it was pertinent, it's in the wrong bulletin board. You want to trash the software, that's your right, but do it on their forum, not this one. -
once you burn the iso file to the CD, you can just use the CD as if it were any other driver/application CD. All the individual files (i.e. setup.exe, etc.) should then be visible and readily accessible. Good luck!

Let us know if there would have been some place where we might have seen the font before (i.e. on some one's race car, etc). Other than that, you can try the list of place to download fonts from this thread... http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?topic=2778.0

You might want to look into a tablet or a scribe. I currently don't have room (or refuse to rearrange my desk to make room) for a graphics tablet, however, last week I bought the iogear digital scribe (it was on sale). So far I've had some fun playing with it, but it might help you out a bit. http://www.iogear.com/main.php?loc=product&Item=GPEN100C

If the download was an .iso file, then you need to burn that file to CD (it's a CD imaging file and should contain everything in it). This is a link to the driver I was told to download (by Bruce from Sign Blazer). Maybe it will work better for you (it's an .exe file). http://www.signblazer.net/signblazer/updates/uscutter/setup_111107.exe Since using that driver, I have been error free (with exception to user stupidity, I mean user error ).

PM Ken. Another posted info about having the option to buy the stand after he purchased the table top version.

Large images, diagonal line and image dropped
haumana replied to brentp76's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
I'm guessing the software that you're talking about is Sign Blazer Elements? I had a small issue of SBE locking-up, or putting slash cuts on some of my images. The problem was fixed when I uninstalled/reinstalled SBE, and made sure that I downloaded the latest patch/update. That seemed to fix the locking-up issue as well as a 'cancel' that would cause another lock-up in SBE. I would encourage your to post your issue to the Sign Blazer board (http://forum.uscutter.com/index.php?board=41.0) on this forum and/or post your issues on the Sign Blazer forum too (http://www.signblazer.net/forum/index.php). Maybe if you PM Bruce from Sign Blazer, he can help out with getting your activation/license moved so that you can install it on a completely different computer. -
LaserPoint User manual.. & Dim Display on Cutter
haumana replied to frogwash's topic in USCutter Refine Cutting Plotter Support Requests
The manual for SBE is on the SBE disc. I think that a brief walk-thru of the control panel is on the drivers CD too.
