They come with 60-degree blades now? Dang, where was that when I ordered my cutter? Perhaps US Cutter should add a section to their cutter listings, "What's in the box." I usually find that very helpful when I am considering purchasing something.

I had the same problem with my LP, and many others. It always turned out to be user-error. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling SBE several times, and downloading the updates. Here's a link to a .zip file of what Bruce/Sign Blazer told me to install. After that life was good. As far as adding attachments to your replies, keep in mind that there are specific suffixes that are allowed for the attachments and a file size limitation. Usually if you zip it should be okay. If your graphic is larger than the file limitation, then there's a good chance that your file itself is too larger and causing the LP to choke on the file size. You would need to resize the actual .eps file, then re-import it to SBE and scale it from there. Keep us posted!

If it's not taking the backing with it, than you might need to dust off your decal before applying the app tape.

Sorry, I missed the part in your original post about using SBE on a Win machine. Okay .... double check the driver that you're using in the cut screen setup. Often times, my SBE will change either which cutter, or which port. If you're using the LaserPoint driver, you can try the PCut CT630 (that was the original driver to be used prior to one being coded specifically for the LP), and it's still the driver that I use (if it ain't broke...). Is your machine connected directly to your computer? The cutter doesn't do very well thru a hub, or any other device - it's best to connect direct, preferably without any extensions either. I'm not sure what "everything but the yellow arrow" is, but if you get the file posted we can take a look at it. To attach, just click on "Additional Options..." at the bottom of the reply screen. Another thing you might try is a keyspan (Serial to USB) adapter. You can find them at your local computer or electronics store (Radio Shack, etc.) or you can buy them dirt cheap from eBay. There are many here that got rid of all their issues with some of the cutters by simply using the keyspan. Keep us updated and good luck.

So my "old" (4-1/2 year old) laptop, which is what I use for cutting, is starting to do its own little thing. It'll corrupt drivers here and there, give me the blue screen of death every once in a while. I know all of this can be resolved with a simple scrub and reformat. So here's the real question: If you were in my position, would you get a new laptop or buy a heat press? I would like to do mugs/cups and/or shirts. 'cause those stainless steel water bottles that FF did are the bomb! Mind you, I don't do any of this kind of stuff for a living or even as a profitable hobby. It would just be for me to do stuff here and there C'mon people .... Share your thoughts! Mahalo for your time and mana'o.

I spent the money on the Cirque du Solseil Saltimbanco show that's coming into town. Decided to take a few people as an early christmas present. No mug press, no heat press, no laptop ... but that's worth the trade of great entertainment and great company.

optical media has a shelf life too though ... even the best media out there.
