    HD Utilties?

Anyone out there know of some decent hard drive utilities? I'm primarily looking for something that do what Norton's Disk Doctor did. I know that Windows has its own scan disk, but quite honestly, it sucks. I need to be able to see the log after the disk has been scanned. Win Doctor also rocked and was a totally awesome tool. I really liked Nortons SystemWorks bundle, but it just ate up too many resources in the background and always caused the system to hang during shutdown. For those reasons alone I tossed the entire suite and went straight to Kaspersky for AV stuff. If anyone has any advice, please let me know. Mahalo!

    What size font to use?

I know that there was a link posted before with a table that had the recommended font size to use, depending on viewing distance. Could someone please lead me back to the thread or post the link to that data? I swear to you that I did try and search this forum.

    JAPANESE LETTERING ???

I would always suggest getting a second opinion when doing things in any type of foreign language. Japanese has several different types of "lettering" and it's usually good to know which type your client is looking for - hiragana, katakana or kanji. Most people are looking for the kanji style, but not everything in the Japanese language can be expressed in kanji.

    Thinking of buying a 24"

It's pretty easy to learn. It take a little bit of time and effort to get your cutter setup and "dialed in," but if you have any questions, this forum is always here to help. You can search YouTube under cutting vinyl, layering vinyl, etc. and there should be some videos there - even a few submitted by some of the forum members here. If you have a specific model that you're considering, I encourage you to visit that bulletin board and read through some of the threads that you might find interesting. Good luck, and welcome to the forum! Caution: This forum has be known to cause forum-addiction.

  10. the pcut and the lp are pretty much the same, however, the lp has a contour cutting feature. if you can break the piggy bank, then the graphtec is awesome, the copam in second.

    Laserpoint Help

next step is try a different software (i.e. Flexi or Sign Cut). If you increased the pressure until it cuts all the way through then that's either way too much pressure and/or the blade is sticking too far out. Could you post the .eps or SBE file of what you're trying to cut? I know you said it was circles, but is it a vectorized image, or was is drawn directly in either SBE or another vector art app? How big is the largest circle? how small is the smallest? Keep in mind that you bought a LP, and not a GraphTec or the Copam. The LP is considered a budget cutter.

  17. The banana disc has the drivers for the LP on it. You can install Sign Blazer Elements (SBE) on any amount of (windows) computers you'd like. The software manufacturer is in limbo, but the it's still a very good program that is fully functional in trial mode with no time and/or use limitation. Do you still have questions about the roller thingies?

    Laserpoint Help

try increasing the pressure, lower the cutting speed, and use a 60-degree blade. You can also try using the serial port - there is better communication via that method.

That's awesome. I wish I had some mad Flash skills. I don't even think I have the creativity for something like that so I guess it's not such a terrible loss

    What's your hobby?

Pinball machines and arcades are awesome. I can only imagine how much money I've blown 'back in the day' going to all the different game places here. My favorites were always Black Knight pinball, Beer Tap, and Star Wars. Wish I had the money and space to have them now ... but then I would instantly become unproductive I hear ya, I have Black Knight, Black Knight 2000, Sorcerer and Dungeons and Dragons pins and a bunch of video games. I work part time at a local arcade restoration place, its a hoot!. Wayne I soooooo want your job!
  25. nice heat press. maybe i should get one - this is the first one I've seen on eBay that offers free shipping without any mention of additional cost or no shipping to Hawaii. WooHoo!
