I have the mh721 using a usb connection, windows vista, sb trial.

I have a problem with the cutter cutting my vinyl. On my first cut my cutter always brings my vinyl back about 5 inches then starts cutting. This is a problem due to the fact that it either takes my vinyl all the way out or doesn't leave enough to get what I am cutting all the way. I can always start it out 5 to 6 inches but then it would waste that vinyl. The second cut always starts right without moving the vinyl. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you,

Christi

Sounds like you need to set the origin.

Hi Carl, Thanks for replying. When you say I need to set the orgin is that the speed and pressure because it cuts good?

No after you place vinyl in cutter there should be a button to press, mine says origin.

Last button on right of panel.

Good luck you may have to look at manual for your cutter tho.

Okay I clicked the orgin button when I have vinyl in it and this is what it does. It moves the blade down to the vinyl then back up and the green light above offline/pause comes on. I am going to cut something small to check and see if that makes it work.

Thank you!

That worked. Thank you so much for the help. This forum is awesome. I bought some oracal 651 to do some decals with and they have like a bumpy rectangle runners that go down the vinyl in 3 places. I am assuming that is where I should be putting my brackets on but why do they make them threw out the whole vinyl so it goes on the decals? I have bought Oracal 631 and love it although the size that i get is 12 x 24 but it doesn't have the bumpy rectangles?

Christi... glad to hear you got things worked out. The origin clears out the X and Y axis settings. Making the blade start it's cut exactly from where it sits.

I knew there had to be an easy fix to it. I read my little manual that came but it didn't help. I am so happy that I found this site! That is the main reason I bought the uscutter is because of this forum. Thank you!

We get those roller marks on our vinyl every once in a while. It is not supposed to be there but it shouldn't be hard to rub out. If that doesn't work give us a call and we can get it worked out.

Okay I was wrong it is still doing it even after hitting the orgin button and having the blade go down. I am cutting one after another and every other time it sucks the vinyl all the way out of the machine and then starts cutting. The second time it cuts from right where the carriage is?

I bought 3 rolls of the vinyl in 3 different colors and those marks are on two of the rolls. I tried to rub some out to no avail but I am not sure how noticeable they are?

I am also trying to layer a name and number w/shadowing it. I spray the one I am putting over the other so if I have to move it I can easily, but it seems that some of the backing is sticking to the bottom/final layer of the vinyl and not making it to easy to come off and apply. Is it due to getting to wet or does this happen a lot with this type of vinyl? If it is due to being to wet is there an easier way to layer things before you are applying them to something? I am making them all then I am giving them to the customer to put on the vehicles so they don't have to try and layer them.

Thank you,

Christi
