Guest TracMatt Posted July 30, 2008 When I arc my text one side is always lower than the rest. It isn't even. When I try to node edit the text the arc goes away so it defeats the purpost. Any ideas? Tracee
RegisG 0 Posted July 30, 2008 I just did one to arch above a spare tire. I found it impossible to get straight AFTER initial arching. But, you "should" see a dotted line going across from one node to the other as you begin to move each node. It will look jagged if not straight and smooth if equal. Hope this makes sense. Guest TracMatt Posted July 30, 2008 I don't see a dotted line, so how would I get it to show up? Even when I move one node it isn't there. Tracee

Guest TracMatt Posted July 30, 2008 No, entering text then going up to text tab then arching it. Tracee
Jay2703 704 Posted July 30, 2008 Tracee, post one of the files you are working on.
Guest TracMatt Posted July 30, 2008 Okay here is just the word that I am trying to balance out over a flame. I accidentally lost the flame and didn't want to go through all that again to post it, so this is just the word. You can see how it is not evenly arched. RegisG 0 Posted July 30, 2008 No, entering text then going up to text tab then arching it. Tracee Guess I just got used to using the Manipulate, Distortion, and arc. Regis
Guest TracMatt Posted July 30, 2008 I will try that in a minute and see if it works better. Tracee
Jay2703 704 Posted July 30, 2008 I see what you mean. If nothing else works, create you text then rotate it so it's even. Looks like a glitch in the software of the font.
Guest TracMatt Posted July 30, 2008 I tried it too, my letters seemed to go smaller at the bottom then the top. Which arc did you use once into the distort section? Tracee
Guest TracMatt Posted July 30, 2008 Jay, Isn't that weird? Tracee
kenimes 42 Posted July 30, 2008 When I arc the word "testing" for example, I notice that the bottom of the "g" sticks down a bit further than the bottom of the "T", but this is because the bottom part of the "g" should be below the line anyhow, just as if you were writing it on notebook paper. Not sure if this has anything to do with it. Also, are you selecting centeer when arcing? Default is Left justified, and it should be center justified, unless you want it left justified. kenimes 42 Posted July 30, 2008 I did open your file, and I see what you mean. What I posted previously has nothing to do with what you got going on.....not sure.
Guest TracMatt Posted July 30, 2008 Ken, Right I know what you mean, that happens when I set up a file for embroidery also. This was totally different. I am going to have to learn to use the distortion, arc thing I guess. Lots of practice. I'm sure there is lots of stuff this software does that I don't even know it is capable of doing . RegisG 0 Posted July 30, 2008 Tracee, I loaded your's and see what you mean. Short solution is to rotate slightly aligning with grid line. Funny thing,,,I changed font to Arial (cyr) and the line is balanced. ? Didn't try anymore Using Distort, I see what you said about making bottom of text slightly smaller. I never noticed that (probably because of using large radius). Regis
Guest TracMatt Posted July 30, 2008 Thanks for the help. Maybe I should download that font again some place new. Tracee
Jay2703 704 Posted July 30, 2008 I think like Ken said, use the text along curve but rotate it after you create it so that it's even.
SynFX 1 Posted July 30, 2008 the only recommendation I would make would be to get a copy of Corel Draw X3. It does everything you need and then some... Im not familiar with SignBlazer, I use SignCut X2 myself for the cutting app.
Guest TracMatt Posted July 30, 2008 Thanks for all the help. I have corel, maybe I should learn to use it Tracee
CyberSultan 6 Posted July 30, 2008 I like the arching features in Corel. That's what I use.
Guest TracMatt Posted July 30, 2008 I'm definitely going to have to learn to use it then. Tracee
