haumana 1,221 Posted July 15, 2008 Anyone out there try the "upgrade" yet?
firemalt 10 Posted July 15, 2008 I updated my iPhone to v2.0 on Sunday. There are a few small changes, but the major thing is all the apps avaliable now. I'd say there's close to a 1000 app problems with about 100 of them being free. I added about 20 to my phone LOL. Not sure if the itouch is the same, but during the update it removed all my music and reinstalled it. It also wiped out my alarm clock settings, my stock info, and a few other little things. Pictures, music, contacts, etc. all stilled.
haumana 1,221 Posted July 15, 2008 I just rant the update on my iTouch. It wiped out the info too. Reset everything. Took a while for me to put my music, movies, photos and contacts back in. I checked out the app store. Downloaded a couple of the free stuff. Deleted a lot too. We'll see if it was worth the effort. I thought the new release was going to be able to have a file storage ability (outside of music, etc.), but I haven't figured it out yet. If anyone wants the upgrade, feel free to PM me. firemalt 10 Posted July 15, 2008 Wow... it wiped you clean?!?! On my iPhone, it showed that it was clearing it all out(I started to panic!), but then I saw that it was reinsalling everthing back for me. The only thing I really had to reset was mainly my personal settings.
firemalt 10 Posted July 15, 2008 Look for an app called "Shazam". I may be behind in times, but this app tripped me out! If there is music playing(at a club, elevator, on the radio), start the app, click on "tag now", and with a few seconds it will tell you the song name, artist, title of album, option to save to your iTunes list, preview links to the song, option to email info, and a linkable button to youtube. This app alone made me fall in love with my iPhone even more!!!
haumana 1,221 Posted July 16, 2008 that is impressive! sure beats calling someone up and holding your phone to the speaker, asking your friends, "What song is this?" Hahahaha. It made me mental when my friends and family would do that. I gotta tell my sister about that app!
stormy 5 Posted July 17, 2008 Dude, Shazam is freakin amazing. Another cool one is remote, I can control my itunes on my computer from my phone. More Cowbell is pretty fun. Alarm Free is neat, kinda dumb though. also downloaded NearPics, TapTap, iWant, and Restaurants I'm so happy i upgraded my iphone.

haumana 1,221 Posted July 17, 2008 How do you guys find time to play with your iPhones when you spend so much time on this forum ... or vise versa? The iTouch I have is a "loaner," and I'll have to give it up soon, but I thought I'd try and maximize the firmware and free toys that i could... I don't have time to play with it
