hopkinsrj 1 Posted April 7 Please read the whole post before commenting. I have not used my P Cut for a couple years. Today I tried to cut and I get an error saying the cutter will not initialize with the laptop. I have tried the 3 laptops that I have used to cut in the past. I tried changing the usb cable. I have tried all combinations several times. When I plug in the laptops I get sounder on the laptop telling me the usb is plugged in. Any ideas what the issue is and how to resolve it? haumana 1,227 Posted April 7 what version of Windows are you running? make sure that the ComPort that Windows assigned to your cutter, matches the connection in the software. Each time you unplug/re-plug the USB, it's possible that Windows will assign it a different number. If you're running Windows 10 or Windows 11, then each update that Microsoft pushes runs the chance of knocking the cutter settings askew. for the most part, the majority of the regular volunteer forum members do take the time to read the original post in its entirety. slice&dice 2,467 Posted April 7 Install the VCP driver. You will then have that stm32 choice available in the list of connections. Problem solved. https://quadmeup.com/stm32-virtualcomport-driver-for-windows
