vinyl spooler not responding

Recommended Posts

Guest Nancy

I broke the usb port on my US Cutter MH-871, so i started using a COM.  I was able to connect it fine in vinylmaster, but when I click Proceed to Cutting-Yes, it freezes and then vinyl spooler "not responding" pops up.  I checked my device manager and the COM is recognized.  I am using the latest version of Windows 11.  Any help would be appreciated.

Nancy, hello.

There might be something wrong with the connection port circuit board (I/O) on the cutter.

The cost to replace is negligible, and simple to access/swap out.

Nancy, whazzup!  show us a photo of your I/O board. Those parts are fairly standard, and so long as the connector plug is similar, you can get one made for another model, like the SC for example. (MH I/O boards are not available on the parts replacement list).

However, before you go that route, I'm curious about how VM shows your cutter connection to the COM (Serial port). You say it's 'recognized' but let's look into that aspect first, and verify the computer is indeed properly set for that communication.
