Craft Robo Pro - How do I align the optical sensor?

Recommended Posts

Hi all. Owner of a CE5000-40 CRP, used it for years, but over time, the cuts have been shifting to the left, forcing me to shift my cut paths in program about 0.015px to the right to get the cuts centered (or close to it), but over time, it kept shifting more and more and had to go from 0.015px to about 0.017.

Eventually found out the screw that holds the reg mark sensor came loose and had slowly been shifting to the right. I tried pushing it slightly left and then tightening the screw, it's a lot better, but with a slight shift to the right now (and a slight slant).  There is a notch and a divot, tried aligning to that, but it's worse if I do that, so all I could do was try to "ever so slightly push it to the left" with my finger and tighten the screw. Slant still exists, but ever so minor now, but still have that unwanted shift to the right or right (depending on how firmly I push the sensor while tightening the screw). I'm either pushing too hard or not hard enough, but can never get it centered or unslanted. The second screw can fix slant, but I'd rather not touch that one just yet until I can figure out how to perfectly center this thing >.<

Tried emailing graphtec, they never answered. They probably wouldn't service it anyway since I bought this back around 2010. I see these sensors for sale, so people are obviously buying them and properly aligning them. I wonder how they do it? :(

Here's an image of what I'm dealing with.
1- screw I'm messing around with
2- divot that I tried to align to, but looked worse when I did
3- second screw that might help me fix slant later on, not sure how I could align that one either.
