izlude 0 Posted January 3 Hi all. Owner of a CE5000-40 CRP, used it for years, but over time, the cuts have been shifting to the left, forcing me to shift my cut paths in program about 0.015px to the right to get the cuts centered (or close to it), but over time, it kept shifting more and more and had to go from 0.015px to about 0.017. Eventually found out the screw that holds the reg mark sensor came loose and had slowly been shifting to the right. I tried pushing it slightly left and then tightening the screw, it's a lot better, but with a slight shift to the right now (and a slight slant). There is a notch and a divot, tried aligning to that, but it's worse if I do that, so all I could do was try to "ever so slightly push it to the left" with my finger and tighten the screw. Slant still exists, but ever so minor now, but still have that unwanted shift to the right or right (depending on how firmly I push the sensor while tightening the screw). I'm either pushing too hard or not hard enough, but can never get it centered or unslanted. The second screw can fix slant, but I'd rather not touch that one just yet until I can figure out how to perfectly center this thing >.< Tried emailing graphtec, they never answered. They probably wouldn't service it anyway since I bought this back around 2010. I see these sensors for sale, so people are obviously buying them and properly aligning them. I wonder how they do it? :( Here's an image of what I'm dealing with. 1- screw I'm messing around with 2- divot that I tried to align to, but looked worse when I did 3- second screw that might help me fix slant later on, not sure how I could align that one either. https://imgur.com/a/RWNQ1Wd
MZ SKEETER 4,720 Posted January 3 This is the Graphtec CE5000 'SERVICE MANUAL". NOT User manual. Possibly you can find a fix in there under the correct category. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/2175068/Graphtec-Ce5000-Series.html
izlude 0 Posted March 23 Sorry I never followed up. Quick answer: It's working Long answer: I got things pretty close to perfect except for the bottom right corner of my sticker sheet. All objects cut perfectly around, but on the bottom right, it's "every minutely" shifted.. took a chance and swapped the sticker on the bottom right for a sticker on the bottom left (different shapes), oddly enough, all objects now cut perfectly around now. Swapping the two items back again as a test has that issue again, not sure why that is, so I kept them swapped and now they all cut perfect. Full page images also cut perfectly with no noticeable shift in any corner. As for the manual, it had that one page with targets on it and the blade (or pen tool) is supposed to mark directly on top of the targets. While I did mess around with it, and did get the pen to mark directly on top of the targets, having it that way made my cuts way worse however, having access to that menu item, I set my decimal X, Y, to .4, .4 instead of .2, .3 (as it was originally) and that got things fixed. It doesn't mark directly on top of the targets, but it certainly cuts everything as they should be. Still convinced my physical placement of the sensor is not right, but if it works, it don't matter anymore Thanks for the manual!!! I have one final question (unrelated), rather than open a second topic, I'll just ask real quick. I've got that issue where media bows upward in the middle, namely, my carrier sheet. To fix this, I placed a small box behind the machine to keep the carrier straight because when it droops down the back of the plotter, that's when the bowing happens. I still keep an eye on it just in case. Then I found two "actual" solutions, but not sure which one I should buy. It's either going to be "push arms" that clip onto the square bar (claims to work with CE6000, but I think it should work on CE5000 since they both use that square bar), or, a "press wheel arm" that screws a clamp over the bar... Which do you think would be the better investment? clip armshttps://www.ebay.com/itm/256080307115 press wheelhttps://www.ebay.com/itm/396285776958
MZ SKEETER 4,720 Posted March 23 You are very welcome, happy to help. I would go with the clip arms, US seller. Goes all the was across vinyl. You can adjust them across the vinyl. Press wheel is seller in Thailand, zero feedback.
haumana 1,227 Posted March 23 Thank you for your follow-up update. Glad that things are getting situated for you. As far as you question towards bottom goes - I have a CE6000, and use two clip arms. I'd prefer to use a pinch roller, but my machine only came with two, so I resorted to getting the arms. Not endorsing anyone in particular, but you get can get them slightly cheaper on Etsy here, with free shipping. I do not recall where I got mine from, but I did use a bit of alien tape at the back of the "box" of the arm pieces, so that they stayed on, as a few times they popped off while in use. Different (3D) printer person may use different filament with different flex properties, so just know that your's may fit perfectly, while mine is very, very close, but required some super strength double stick tape If you think that suporrts on the front of the cutter, to help the cutting mat to stay flat, would also be beneficial there are sellers on eBay and Etsy that sell those too. If you have, or know of someone who has a 3d printer, then I can post the .stl file for those and you (or someone else) can print them up for you. Keep us posted.
