SVG to VinylMaster throwing a wobbly!

Recommended Posts

When i import large size SVG files (56cm wide by 3000cm long but only 31kb) into vinylmaster it repositions all of the elements to cut and they overlap. Do I need to change a setting somewhere? Am I missing something? Thanks in anticipation.

have you tried to save/export your .svg file as an .eps, then impore it into VM?

there have been incidents where cutting software doesn't do well with large sized files.  you can scale down your graphic is whatever design software that you're using, then import it into VM, and scale to the size you need cut.

Are you running the latest version of VM? There was a version that had issues with importing SVGs and they would get jumbled up or missing sections. SVG files are not all equal and some programs can't handle the extra information other programs store in them. Two options, that have worked for me export as an EPS then use that, or try saving the SVG file as a flat SVG file.

Gave that a try and it seemed to work a bit better but had some strange 'callouts' that were off the cutter that sent my machine into a spin - need to keep playing. Strange Ive not had this problem before cutting smaller items. The other thing was that it cut twice on eps possibly one cut based on colour, the other based on the path?
