Problems creating a label

I'm trying to create a custom label. Here's what I did and so far doesn't work. I'd cut the label. Then chose the text the text to print on the label using the pen tool. My problem is that once I cut the label then change to the pen tool I can't get it to start from the same origin so that the text is centered on the label. Any pointers, suggestions, ideas? Anything that will help is much appreciated. I'm using VM LTR

If you're hoping to get everything back to the same point of origin, you need to make sure that you have the software request to return to the point of origin at the end of the cut.
