cutter quit & now windows won't recognize it

Recommended Posts

  I don't know whats up with the cutter or the program (SBE)  There I was cutting vinyl when the vinyl went sideways and the cutter procceded to work a hole in the vinyl along with a nice wad mess.  Well I got that cleaned up and tried to go back to work.  The tile would not cut and the program would not respond, everything just locked up.  I had to do a manual shutdown on the computer.  Did a restart on the computer now the computer won't recognize the cutter.  Checked port setting on the computer & nothing shows up for the cutter.  I tried reloading the SBE program & still have the same problem.  The cutter shows up as  a unknown device, the recommendation; try reconnecting the device, if windows still does not recognize it try replacing the device.

I looked over the cutter;  and the cutter head moves nice and smooth to the left but is jerky when moving to the right.  I don't know if that has anything to do with anything but I thought I would toss that in the mix.

If Windows no longer ecognizes the USB device plugged in, then you might need to force the driver in. Right click on your Unknown Device, then left click on Update Driver, and point to your driver CD that came with the cutter.
