security802 686 Posted April 26, 2015 So I had a WF2540 with the CIS bulk system. Well it crapped out this weekend, just stopped working... So I needed a new printer pronto, and no one had any WF2540, so looked for a printer that uses the 200 ink cartridges. Have got it all setup with the factory cartridges, but when I swap to the CIS cartridges, the new printer will not recognize them. Is there something else I need to do to get them to work? Have an email in to Cobra, but figured I would see if any of ya'all may now
mr300s 1,272 Posted April 26, 2015 My guess is that Richard installs a re set button which tricks the Epson computer into thinking you have installed a new cartridge. I think its a pretty easy process although I have never done it. I think Rich has his cell # posted on the site and you might get quicker results if you send him a IM on his phone if you are able to... He will help you out for sure ... Tell him I sent you so you will get 10% off if you should have to buy the reset equipment etc. https://www.cobraink.com/videos/Resetting%20combo%20chip/start%20video.html

I figure I will leave the regular cartridges in it, till I can get ahold of Richard. Thanks Bill

LOL! I went with the WF-3620 with CIS with sub ink for $249. Shipping was about $55 if I remember right, I ended up paying $279, but I bought Dyetrans paper too. Not sure how the 3620 compares to the 2540, but the price is pretty hard to beat. Basically, I paid for the CIS system and ink and got the printer for free. LOL! MadHatterGraphix 1,258 Posted April 26, 2015 Did you try reinstalling them? Is the battery loose to the reset button?
OWJones 1,981 Posted April 26, 2015 When I had problems getting the printer to recognize the CISS cartridges it was because the battery holder was wired backwards and it wasn't providing the proper signal. Try swapping your battery out and see if that fixes it.

dirtrocker 60 Posted April 26, 2015 Does your's have the reset button? If it does, the battery wire should be connected to the reset button with a couple little wires. You'd have to follow the wires to the battery. Not sure if your's has the battery and reset button or not, but I thought Cobra put them on all the Epson CIS setups.I could be wrong though. LOL! Or are you talking about the factory cartridges?
security802 686 Posted April 26, 2015 has reset button but see no wires or anywhere a battery could even be... maybe the setup wont work with the xp-410.
dirtrocker 60 Posted April 26, 2015 Do either of these help? I suspect not, but what I could find. Seems they are for cartridges, not CIS though. https://www.cobraink.com/videos/Code127/start%20video.html https://www.cobraink.com/videos/676XL/start%20video.html The page below has a video for the tank systems where at the 12:00 mark, it shows him connecting the battery. Don't know if it helps or not. https://www.cobraink.com/videos/empty%20printer%20setup/start%20video.html
MadHatterGraphix 1,258 Posted April 27, 2015 I think the battery fell off when the other printer was working and that's what the issue is. Every CIS that has a reset needs that battery to reset it and what probably happened was the battery leads broke or unconnected and fell into the printer.
