showaride 0 Posted April 14, 2008 I have a couple of boats and sea doo's I need to do coming up in a couple weeks and was wondering what kind of vinyl or tricks I need to know so that dont end up falling off because of being in the water. firemalt 10 Posted April 14, 2008 Maybe some of the pro's can chime in... but in the meantime, I'd suggest: Use a good cast vinyl, such as Oracal 851 Make sure you clean the surface area REALLY good Try using a "Sealitpen"... sold at most vinyl supply companies. showaride 0 Posted April 15, 2008 I was wondering because I'm doing peoples MC numbers, and one of them they want me to use the brush chrome I ordered to do a shield for them. ff-extreme 6 Posted April 16, 2008 I emailed Oracal today and asked them what to use this was the reply There is nothing "Marine" specific, many of our materials will work for this application. I would assume the name is intended to stay for as long as possible ( not short term ) so I would suggest any of the 851 series. I would avoid the metallic's only because of the high amount of sun exposure that is compounded by the reflection from the water.
