cut line through letters

I have a mh721, when I cut signs I get cut lines from corner to corner through the letters. How can I fix this problem? Sometimes I get several cut lines through the letters; please help.

There a few other threads on this issue, and I think some of them attributed it to static electricity but I'm not sure.  I know mine will completely lock up and go nuts if I walk by it and accidently shock it.  Even though it is grounded it is still very sensitive.  Good luck, that sounds very frustrating.

Which program are you using to cut with?
