seattlebred 0 Posted January 18, 2015 Hey, Any one have any ideas on how to best etch/engrave on a wooden knife handle? I have tried the Harbor Freight Air eraser - but it didn't quite do the job I needed it to. Perhaps there is an issue with it :/ How deep should it be able to etch on glass? OWJones 1,981 Posted January 20, 2015 An air eraser will etch - it won't really carve. Unless you hold it on the same spot for a lengthy period of time, it's not going to cut very deep at all. It is, after all, an air eraser - it's designed to remove paint and scale off of surfaces. With a $20 sand blaster from Tractor Supply Co. or Harbor Freight, plus a bag, box or bucket of appropriate sized blasting media, you'll be able to etch much deeper into glass and carve into other materials, like wood. Icomstock 4 Posted January 13, 2016 Try photomask for etched glass, read my post under general discussions, glass etching.
Dakotagrafx 7,293 Posted January 13, 2016 photomask will not help with depth of etch- the proper blaster will help with that
