trdugger 0 Posted January 18, 2015 I am trying to decide on printer for heat transfers. I am looking at the Ricoh 3300 to purchase and is this my best option for the price or is there something better
OWJones 1,981 Posted January 18, 2015 What kind of heat transfers? Sublimation? ChromaBlast? Printable transfers - JPSS and/or 3G Opaque? Each of those requires a different type of ink system, and that will determine what type of printer you want/need.
mr300s 1,272 Posted January 18, 2015 And the 3300 is the older model the 3110 is newer and now there is even another one that just came out by sawgrass ... Do your research

trdugger 0 Posted January 18, 2015 I found the 3110 Geljet and found that is a new technoligy but just not sure if that will work for my small t-shirt business. Any help would be appreciated
trdugger 0 Posted January 18, 2015 I am trying to decide on what printer would best fit my needs. My wife is primarily using heat transfers on both white/light t-shirts and colored t-shirts or darker colored shirts all cotton. My understanding is that sublimation is for poly and mugs, socks, mouse pads, etc...... Chromablast is for light or white shirts. Is there a printer I can get that will allow us to do heat transfers on cotton shirts for both light and dark t-shirts or do we have to buy two printers? jaybyrd 3,770 Posted January 18, 2015 If you want a 3300 I have one I just replaced with a larger format printer. I have (1) each cyan, magenta and yellow still in the packages (value $180) Will need black soon but maybe at 20%. This is a working printer and not some headache I'm trying to pass off I just don't need it anymore and I'll take $275 shipped anywhere in the lower 48 states. A standard inkjet printer with pigment based ink will print onto JPSS and 3G Opaque transfers for white and dark t-shirts, respectively.
