laserpoint II offset on roller axis, circles not closing.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys have had this cutter for just under a year now and am loving it for outdoor orical vinyl.

Recently I started doing heat transfer vinyl from siser. but now the machine is slipping or not feeding the vinyl right resulting in missed nodes. or in the case of a circle not closing.

on a 1" cicle the end of the cut is missing by about a pencil point width.

i have tried the tighting the feed rollers, and have used both the "test" function and my own nodes both have this offset issue.

next step is to open it up and check belt tightness?

set your offset first using the test cut and then leave that alone -that has nothing to do with not closing - if using scalp or flexi go into production manager and add to your overcut.  usually we find this is worse when people have too much blade exposed too

hey thanks for the fast response! changing the blade offset made a world of difference from .31 to .23. who would have thunk changing vinyl means changing settings too! :P

maby you could help me with one other issue i have been having, ill draw my art in wireframe mode so i know the nodes are good.

but when the machine goes to cut my relief marks for weeding, say in between font. it will go cut a dozen little tiny cuts, then go back and cut the font. is there a way to set a tool path that will incorporate all the lines into a flow?

my design software, i draw it in corel draw and transfer to SCALP. any time i use scalp simplify it adds cutlines that go right though the art.

well i made 10 t-shirts today, but still having some issues with closing of the lines. and a new issue has showed up. sometimes but not all the time my font letters shift, but just one of them. it is alternating on the same letters in two different places on whether it works 100% or not.

i changed the blade to red cap and set the offset at .25, but it bounced to .23.
