pshawny 410 Posted October 28, 2014 Weird question a customer emailed me. Is this paintable or will the paint bubble and peel off?
mark-s 1,126 Posted October 28, 2014 It will just puddle using ink jet or eco solvent inks. Thermal print will work. mark-s
pshawny 410 Posted October 28, 2014 Paintable, not printable. I'm guessing artist's paint of some kind.
101LEDs 100 Posted October 28, 2014 I just painted a scrap with some kind of squeezy water based art paint pen. I actually just cut some black 631 and the paint pen was handy. Looks like it is drying very slow.
101LEDs 100 Posted October 28, 2014 It sticks and the vinyl stays flexible. Here is what it was, http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/tulip-neon-3d-fashion-paint-kit-130476/
pshawny 410 Posted October 28, 2014 Thanks. I'll tell them to give it a try. Maybe some PhotoTex would work better though.
sluggo2u 32 Posted October 28, 2014 I used some 631 to make a stencil for my wife to use when painting a bedroom at our house. Behr latex seemed to cover it and stick well. I can't say how it would hold up because I peeled it the second the paint flashed over. The paint stuck to the vinyl as it was removed.
express2100 154 Posted October 28, 2014 Why would one want to paint vinyl?
pshawny 410 Posted October 28, 2014 Maybe to let kids paint on it, then stick it on the wall.
