slice&dice 2,450 Posted September 7, 2014 My avatar features a photo of the recently completed Freedom Tower in NYC. The rebuilt World Trade Center is both a powerful symbol of the resilience of America and a memorial to the past. HISTORY channel TV is broadcasting two shows -- Smithsonian’s “Crowning New York,” an hour long, on Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. This program focuses on the healing effect of planning and then physically erecting a building that said New York and America had gotten back on their feet. Then, on Sept 11, to mark the 13th anniversary of the tragic day, the channel will air “Rebuilding the World Trade Center,” which runs two hours, starting at 6 p.m. If anyone is interested in the technical and emotional aspects of this massive construction project, these productions would seem to be worthwhile to watch. http://www.history.com/shows/history-films/pictures/rebuilding-the-world-trade-center/wtc-
knucklehead 530 Posted September 8, 2014 Just watched the show last night where they were finishing up, and putting the spire on top. That thing is huge too. Bottom section weighs 60 tons.
