skener 11 Posted July 4, 2014 Hi the wife has had a card made for my niece's new born baby, the front is a picture of a pram which is made up of words such as the name date of birth, weight she was born, time of birth etc. Was wondering if anyone knows how this is done? My drawing skills are poor to say the least and thought there must be a template or something where you could just type in your text and the software would put it into the shape, is this available anywhere? I have corel draw and Serif draw, but can't find anything on them which would let me do this. Thanks for reading, hope it makes sense, John

skener 11 Posted July 4, 2014 this is what I mean I suppose the text to path could be used but be a bit of a pain to me any way lol.
skarekrow 1,842 Posted July 4, 2014 Yeah.. there should be a for everything. Surely, the person that originally created it just hit the button. ~roll eyes~
skarekrow 1,842 Posted July 4, 2014 1) Take a baby carriage shape and into your favorite vector program. 2) Lay out the words (in the fonts & sizes of your choice) within the shape. 3) Finish off with the words in the circular path of the wheels. 4) Save in your favorite vector format. 30 minutes to 1 hours' work... a Lifetime of Gratification.
Sue2 920 Posted July 4, 2014 I doubt there's a push button solution. Mostly this takes good design sense, skill and finesse. It's easy enough to do in Corel.... just takes time and patience... and a bunch of different fonts. Find a shape you want to follow and lock it in the background. Then start placing & sizing the words till you get something you like. Good luck. Sue2
signyouup 178 Posted July 5, 2014 It's like doing a puzzle but you can modify the pieces.
skener 11 Posted July 5, 2014 Thanks for the information, been trying with text to path that does the job, not as slow as I thought it would be , it's quite satisfying actually when you make it yourself. When I get the finished article i'll post a picture of it for some advice/pointers where I could have done better/different , I will do a simple pram to start with then I'm going to try a teddy bear etc. Thanks for the input sometimes you just need a bit of motivation lol. Sue2 920 Posted July 5, 2014 Good for you! If you notice, on your sample above, they stuck in a heart to fill in "empty spots". Sue2
