wf2ste 11 Posted June 22, 2014 Hi Guys, Not sure if i placed this in the best category.. I want to use the font 'Tekton Pro' an OTF font on my design, Signblazer doesn't show the font so i tried to write my text in Illustrator and save as an eps / ai file but neither import correctly, i'm using Illustrator CS6. Is there certain options i need to set when saving? or is their a better way of doing this?
skarekrow 1,842 Posted June 22, 2014 Perhaps (in Illustrator) Object>Expand and Save as eps vector then Import (or Paste?) into SB as a graphic file? Dunno really, don't use SB.
mb20music 760 Posted June 22, 2014 You can convert the font to a true type font. Do a google search for it. I went ahead and converted it for you. http://home.comcast.net/~ricks01/Tekton_ttf.ttf

sluggo2u 32 Posted June 27, 2014 Just wondering, why not just click the type drop down and select create outlines turning the text into a vector based shape? Is there and advantage to converting the font aside from the obvious that the text is no longer editable?
skarekrow 1,842 Posted June 27, 2014 As I first opined, sluggo. "Yes". And "yes", there are other advantages to converting text to paths. Being able to load the 'text' even if you dont have the font installed is the most obvious. Also, some cutting programs don't play well with text that's still "live".
