Making multiple lines into one line

I'm still fairly new at vinyl cutting.  I'm trying to make a decal of a chainsaw bar/chain for my family.  I'm trying to get the chain portion to become one line instead of many little pieces.

 

I've been unable to figure out how to do this.  Is there even a way and if so can you explain how it's done.

I did try welding but thought it still showed multiple cutting direction arrows.  I tried it again and it only shows one arrow.
