Expert Needed! How do u convert a SBD file to a PED embroidery file?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know the cheapest(free) most accurate way to go from a SBD file to an embroidery file? I don't mind if it's a few steps as long as I get there...  ;-p      I just can't afford the software or to pay the digitizing fees.

Thanks in advance for your advice.  :-D

I had a professional do them when we had the embroidery machine - it is not just a simple conversion as thread density and direction of stitch play a big roll in the final product

I have a brother embroidery machine and needed PES files.

I'm not an expert, but I ran into a similar issue. If you search google they have "trial" programs you can download to do this (free). I had one of the programs at one point and it works. I had to play with a couple of different programs to get one I liked that was easy to use. I don't have the program anymore or I'd tell you which one it was. I had to import the file into inkscape and convert it to the file format that would be accepted by the program (each one accepted different inputs) and then import into the program I downloaded.

Sorry for the lengthy explanation.
