No experience, need an Image in Vector!

So i am forign to most things computer, other than the internet,so I have no idea how to do this, I am hoping someone here can help me put and take my attatched image and vectorize it for me. It is a logo for my automotive custom shop. i need just the white, as that is the logo itself, not the black. It should be easy, and I appreciate any help,THANKS Erik

i would like to use the star for a personal logo... i cant figureout how to remove the text in inkscape? any advice

Open the jpeg in inkscape , Trace it use the invert check box.

Then just delete the nodes for the letters and you will have the star.
