First multicolor vinyl: need help with layering image

Recommended Posts

So im about to attempt my first multicolor decal. my friend originally designed these and got them printed and contour cut for me for christmas. since then i ran out and got my vinyl cutter so i want to give it a goo!

from my understanding the layers will go as follow

1 Black base

2 Pink on top

3 White on top

is that how you would do it?

Also i plan for the black layer to be solid (whole decal)

now the pink is where im confused at. It willl be all one color (no gradient) BUT do i have the circles solid and over lay white over them (there will be a crease where the white overlays the pink) or do i cut out negatives for the white lettering?

Then the obvious white top layer

I would do the pink solid and lay the white on top of it.

Yes that over lap is fine. If you get to detailed in how it all HAS to line up you will spend a ton of time layering them. The more room you leave yourself for "missed" marks the better.

I would just lay the white over the pink. Youll kill yourself trying to get the white into the holes.
