Rodger 527 Posted March 14, 2012 Even if you are carving 1/2" or more into rock , glass etc .. you don't blast at the tape/vinyl line for long or directly . Most any vinyl should work & I think the temps & how clean the stone is makes more of a difference than material . Duct tape would be the max adhesive/durable stuff to use . You could find some wider duct tape & put it on a backing paper if reg vinyl won't work for you . Edit ; I use oracal 651 for all the etching I do . It holds up great for me . Ravenwind / One Off Grafx 187 Posted March 14, 2012 You are welcome. There is also a site called BREN that sells some heavy duty mask and stencil material but you pay for it a 24" x 50 yard roll of stencil material ran me like 200. they try to get you to buy their cutters but all you have to do is set the blade depth deeper hi down force and 2 or more passes.
