Stollyman 0 Posted August 9, 2011 Hi, I'm totally new to this and am currently working my way through the inkscape tutorials. The first 2, Swedish flag and Euro flag have gone fine and I can save them as .eps and import into signblazer ok. The third, Northern Pacific, looks fine in inkscape but when I try importing it into signblazer all I get is a black circle. Any suggestions as to where I'm going wrong? I have attached the .eps npacific2.eps

Stollyman 0 Posted August 9, 2011 I imported the file, and it is not vectorized,, traced, you will have to vectorize the bitmap again.. Thanks for the very quick reply. Do I vectorize in Inkscape and if so how? Sorry if it's obvious but that wasn't part of the tutorial.
MZ SKEETER 4,709 Posted August 9, 2011 from USCUTTER.com support Vectorising in Inkscape Posted by Levi Hartzog on 16 January 2009 02:31 PM This walk through explains the basics of vectorising in Inkscape. Step 1) Import your image. Click File>Import, find your file and click OK. Step 2) Select the image, go to the top of the screen, click Path>Trace Bitmap. Step 3) The Trace Bitmap menu will then open. Here you can select how you want your image vectorised and adjust the settings. You can also generate a preview. Once you are happy with the preview click OK and close the Trace Bitmap screen. Step 4) Now you will have your new vector image and the old raster (bitmap, jpeg, gif etc) image stacked on top of each other. Seperate the two and delete the raster. Step 5) Play around with your new vector image!
