Need some vinyl cut for me

Recommended Posts

I need 2 rectangular strips cut out on matte black vinyl. The thinner the material, the better. It will be going on a vehicle so a higher quality vinyl is a must. I was thinking 3M ControlTac (or anything similar) for anyone who stocks that.

Each one 11.5" wide by 3.5 yards.

I would do this myself but I have a refine cutter and the 120" length makes it very hard to keep the vinyl cutting straight

Essentially, You can cut the entire thing on a 24" by 4 yard roll of vinyl and throw it in a box and mail it to me. I can do the weeding myself. Application tape is not necessary.

Thanks!

That is what I would do.....

I would pickup a couple of 12" x 96" pieces of laminated shelving....Make sure they are straight....If not, you might have to look for a plywood panel that is cut straight and rip it in half....Then place the factory edges along the same line and with a tite string make sure they are straight.....Then I would take my 4 foot ruler and put it against the straight edge and cut away....

They make Circular Saw guides that are just long straight edges. The one I have is 2 4' sections with a connector for cutting plywood the long way. You can find them at Home Depot or Lowe's.

I know this is an older post but what I do is load the material on my cutter like normal manually run the material to the length I need making sure that it tracks good and straight then I take my olfa knife pierce it just on my side of the roller then manually run the material back the other way making sure to hold my knife steady. I do this alot with making like 1 and 2 inch pin stripes for boats and what not.
