Dipstah 0 Posted January 28, 2008 Does anyone know why this font shows up as a small square in SB and in word? Notepad displays the font as it should and if I open the font file they display there also The font is Gabriel Weiss' Friends Font (True Type) I got it from www.dafont.com http://www.dafont.com/gabriel-weiss.d950 Thanks in advance -Mike gabriel_weiss_frien.zip gabriel_weiss_frien.zip
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted January 28, 2008 don't know about word, but in SB you need to select it and drag it up to a bigger size.
firemalt 10 Posted January 28, 2008 Don't know... did the same for me. When I look at the font in the fonts folder, everything is fine. But it's a no-go in SBE.
JoeCamaro 11 Posted January 28, 2008 Try opening it in another software, convert it to curves and then open the files on SBE
Jerry Bonham 1 Posted January 29, 2008 I tried this font in both SignBlazer and MS Word 2007 and both only typed up rectangles. However in Illustrator i could type text. I am using Vista. No idea why. Will look into it and post an answer here if i find out. Jerry from SignBlazer.
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted January 29, 2008 I get the rectangles too,and they are the same rectangles I get with a dingbat font when there is no character there. I suspect that the problem is in the font, not Signblazer.I'll try it tomorrow in Flexi and see what happens.
JoeCamaro 11 Posted January 29, 2008 Then that could be that the font doesnt have ll characters. I have seen dingbats that only have small caps, other only have capitals, others only numbers. What I do is I always keep a file that has all the ABC and numbers like this aAbBcCdDeE..... 1234567890 Then I open it and select the dingbat and see the available stuff. Jerry Bonham 1 Posted January 29, 2008 I tried that as well. At the bottom of the screen in SignBlazer when you type text is a dialog box showing every character in the font. This is so you can type extended character without knowing all the codes for them, for example when i want UK pounds sign i have to type in MS Word Alt 0163 and this then appears
Dipstah 0 Posted February 25, 2008 Jerry, I was wondering if you had a chance to figure this font out? This is the font used for my Baseball team and it would be nice to be able to cut vinyl for our banner using the same font. Thanks Mike
Jerry Bonham 1 Posted February 25, 2008 Hi Mike, I have figured out that this font has faulty parameters inside it. In other words it does not comply with MS standards for TTF fonts. I am away for the next 2 weeks in China so will not be able to do much until i come back. Then i will repair the font for you so that it can be used in SignBlazer. And i will post the repaired font here for all to use. Jerry from SignBlazer.
