Recommended Posts

I created 2 circles for the ends and a rectangle to join them. Selected the three then I did a Arrange + Merge + Merge all. That made the oval shape. I created the text in a differerent color and moved it on top of the oval. A trap to select both the oval and the text. Arrange + Merge + Punch Through to cut the letters out of the oval. Then I had to erase the letters. (When I did the punch through it turned the letters into curves so I had to select each one sepeerately.) Whole thing took about 5 minutes.

Here is an easier way to do this in SignBlazer Elements.

Simply type up your words.

Place them on top of the panel

Press C for combine.

I have posted a file for others to try this.

Here are two rules to follow.

1. if one object is completely covered by another use combine.

2. If one object is only partially covered use punch through.

You work will be speed up.

I put the three objects together, welded them. I then put your text on it and pressed the punch button and then deleted the extra text objects

Yes, you did a combine on the 3 instead of a Weld + Total Weld.

Jerry, I like the combine for punching out the text. I had not used that before. It eliminated having to erase.

Correct

Here is another way to get perfect half circles on the end of a rectangle

1. draw your rectangle

2. click on node edit

3. Select the two nodes where you want the arc

4. RH click on the screen and choose "to arc"

5. Adjust the arc until it is what you want.

When i see posts i will post alternatives ways as well/

I not saying this is the way to do something, it is just another way.

Hello

Sorry i missed this point.

You cannot combine three objects that overlap.

If you do then you get the half circles.

You need to weld them
