j4str 9 Posted March 3, 2011 I have a graphic that im trying to make out of plain white vinyl. I got it made in color. But when i turn it into black and white, some of the shapes cross paths and i don't want cuts in my vinyl that doesn't need to be there. Can someone help me out? Every time i hit unite or a similar button, it does basicly the opposite of what i want to it to do waltscolor.ai waltsbw.ai
roxanneupnorth 106 Posted March 3, 2011 How I do art like this is enlarge 300% or 400%, rasterize it, autotrace it and then remove the overlapping white objects.... waltsbw-simplified.ai

j4str 9 Posted March 4, 2011 try this so how did you go about it? Rastersizeing and autotrace would probably work too

roxanneupnorth 106 Posted March 4, 2011 I enlarged it ro 400% I rasterized it CMYK at 300 dpi I reduced the size to 25% I did a Live Trace - Mode was Black & White - Threshold 128 - Set to ignore white Expand Un group Use magic wand to select all white objects Then it was good to go waltsbw2-simplified.ai
