godstrong1 2 Posted January 5, 2008 HAS ANYONE TRIED USING A LAZER PRINTER TO PRINT ON VINYL? IF SO WHAT WAS THE RESULT!
BannerJohn 1,324 Posted January 5, 2008 I tried it once.It melted bits of the vinyl. I have seen it done though so it could be that it depends on the vinyl.
Jerry Bonham 1 Posted January 6, 2008 Hello, New you cannot print onto normal vinyl using a desktop laser printer. There are types of plastic type made for laser printers however these are not suitable for cutting. There used to be a lot of thermal ribbon transfer printers on the market. These print quite well on normal vinyl. Then you spray them with automotive clear coat (usually after cutting). I just did a search for these types of printers however only found ones for small labels. Perhaps someone knows of a low cost one? Jerry from SignBlazer.
