outlining text

I am cutting a delicate font, there is no bold so I put a thin outline on the font in illustrator.

I have stroked the outline now I have multiple parhs, How do I save to juat one path so I can cut?

If you are wanting to put an outline on your text.  Select your text.  Go to Object/Path/Offset Path.  Once you have your desired thickness, you can ungroup and delete original text leaving you a thicker font.  Keep in mind that this will take away all text edit.
