Looking for a software i can start keeping track of my Cust orders and would be nice if it would do quotes and stuff for me.

I prefer free.

I was using MS accounting. But my wife was more looking for something to keep better records of stuff.

i'll look into it. Kinda same features that MS accounting has. except this i can make work with MS CRM

You might want to look into freshbooks, it is a monthly fee.

Also I know you mentioned that you wanted it free, but you can catch quickbooks PRO on sale for $99.00...This might be a cheap and one time solution, there is no monthly fee with Quickbooks!

Estimate is the best software for sign business

Its not free, but its well worth money .

I have estimate enterprise and like it.  It is for quoting, production management, invoicing - and it will work with quickbooks (for an extra charge in my case)  They are going to strictly subscription based as of Oct 1 - and discontinuing selling any plugins for version 2 as of that date.  The basic subscription is quoting only for 39 a month for 69 a month you get the full shop management capability (single seat license in both cases)
