Cutting letters from scanned logo

Okay...so I have Artcut 2009 software.  I have scanned an existing logo and saved that as a .bmp file.  So...how the heck can I get the software to recognize the logo and just cut it?  I have been all over this software, and the user manual was obviously written by someone that doesn't understand the english language.

I can import the logo and have tried this item called Image Tracing, but that just makes a flustercluck of the image and is entirely unreadable.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah...well....Like I said...I have Artcut.  If I had wanted to use something else, I would have chosen something else.  Not to be a snot, but your reply did not answer my question or help me with my problem.

you can't, it needs to be in a vector format.  If artcut trace is not good enough try inkscape or another program.
