Stenciling Vinyl? ? ? ? ?

Recommended Posts

Hi......

I'm using my plotter to create vinyl stencils that I can use to paint on shoes.....so its already hard having to put the vinyl on the non flat parts of the shoes. ....But the vinyl I used allowed the paint to seep under the vinyl pretty much ruining my work.

So the vinyl doesn't stick very well.......I need something that sticks great but can be removed.

Stuff I've used was like $15 shipped off eBay....now I'm willing to spend a bit more....any suggestions?

Thanks for your time and effort.

Paint mask maybe?  :notsure:  I've never used it myself but I think that would work the best for you.

What type of paint and how are you applying it?

One trick you might try is shoot a very thin coat the first time to seal the edges, allow it to tack up a bit then hit it with your finish coat. I have also used a first coat of a compatable clear to seal the edges and prevent bleeding.

Forgot all about my post..........well......The first time I just hand painted it......but eventually I'll be using an airbrush.............and all the material is a finished leather.

In the past I've used pre-cut letters that were vinyl but a more matte finish....the cutter vinyl was very shiny.
