What is offset, and what does it do?

Recommended Posts

I think the title says it all...

I understand the speed, and pressure/psi, but don't have a clue about offset.

Thanks!

The offset compensates for the blade tip being behind the center line of the blade. Helps close the cuts.

And whats the correct or best setting for this? Does it varies by blade angle?

Also, whats the Vale Value?

The offset may vary depending on the manufacturer of the blade but usually it's .25

Adjusting the offset "a little" up and down should result in the item being over or under cut.

It's easy to see what it does by using pen and paper... adjust the offset to extremes and plot it to paper.

Never heard of the Vale Value..

Really not sure what the eVale does on the Refine series cutters. Never messed with the setting, so I would just ignore it.
