Kysmiley 0 Posted January 14, 2010 Some of the graphics I use cut out perfect others the blade just jumps up and down, then moves and jumps up and down again. Some small signs can take an hour to go thru the cutter and many times I can not use them because the vinyl is cut all the shreds. Has anyone else had this problem? How do I prevent it from happening? Pat
Rodger 527 Posted January 14, 2010 It was bad files when I experienced that . I have read that not enough memory on big jobs can effect some cutters .
Guest HowardI Posted January 14, 2010 Where do the files come from that you're having problems with? Are they files that you imported and vectorized? Maybe you could post one that's difficult so we can see it. Howard Irwin Support Specialist US Cutter 425-481-3555 888-298-8143 - Option
Kysmiley 0 Posted January 19, 2010 I will post the file this evening. It is a file that has been vectorized. My wife is also asking is there anyway to make a graphic all black so there is not so many boxes to check when trying to cut it. She uses PSP 9 and as far as she can tell all the graphic is one shade of black yet when we attempt to cut it there is like 30 shades of black that have to be checked? cutme 5 Posted January 19, 2010 select all then select a color. all items will be changed to the same color. bb
Kysmiley 0 Posted January 19, 2010 My wife tried to select all then change the image to one color. The image is in a box sort of, then everything in that box changes to black image and surrounding white space becomes black. Now for the next part, yes the image is imported and vectorized. How do I go about uploading and image, what file do you need to see, the vectorized, or the jpeg before vectoring, or do you want me to upload the sign blazer file. I have to cut this tomorrow and would love to have the cutter cutting as it should Pat

Kysmiley 0 Posted February 12, 2010 I will try saving it as something else, right now I need to get this figured out I'm using Corel Draw 9 to vectorize the image. Let me know if Anyone has any suggestions on how to keep my images from cutting in dots instead of lines. Pat
Kysmiley 0 Posted February 12, 2010 Trying to upload this image. When I cut it the cutter acts like a dot matrix printer, but just on the star and curvy line graphic. Hope this upload works. ELDEN-MAGISTRATE.SBD ELDEN-MAGISTRATE.SBD
cutme 5 Posted February 12, 2010 i see the problem you are having now. you need to throw out corel and just import your image into sbe. then use the text tool to recreate the text, and the square tool and node editor to recreate the rest. vectorizing tools prety much all suck for cutting vinyl. here is a video i made on tracing using rectangles in sbe... http://www.screencast.com/t/0yhbAQpR bb
Kysmiley 0 Posted February 12, 2010 The video looks good, however do you have one with sound for the full explanation. But what happens when a client gives me an image that needs more that Sign Blazer can do? Pat
cutme 5 Posted February 12, 2010 sorry no sound, i don't have a mike. as for your complicated customer,... when that time comes, you will have to get "creative". bb
Buggie Pilot 4 Posted February 14, 2010 There are 415 objects in the top banner of this sign. There should be as few as 3 ......... 8 at the most. In your file there are about 400 small squares and rectangles scattered throughout the bezier curve portion of the banner. I don't know of a way they can be colored, welded, or combined out of the design.(if someone knows how let me in on it too) This happens often when things are designed in PS or IA. I have seen as many as 20 copies of the same object when brought in from IA. But what happens when a client gives me an image that needs more that Sign Blazer can do? Pat If you are cutting only and not printing You should be able to do almost anything the other programs can do. I did your sign in under 3 minutes with signblazer, only 4 total objects. I'm with Cutme ....... throw out corel
Kysmiley 0 Posted February 14, 2010 Well the more my wife uses sign blazer the better she gets. She never liked Corel draw, but then she does all her art work in Paint Shop Pro 9. She is just looking for any easier way that still lets her use PSP. Now she is doing her curves and designs rather fast and the cutting is going much faster. Thanks for the input.
