Oracal recommends installing on the outside - the vinyl is uv resistant but the adhesive is not.  it is also harder to get it to look right on the inside when you can see the adhesive and the different areas it adheres

The few windows I have done have been on the outside. The one I did for my friends restaurant is holding up well. It is very cold here dropping to the single digits at night and his vinyl still looks good. He even cleans the window weekly.

Just use a good intermediate or high performance vinyl like orcal 651 minimum or my preference 751 they both hold up to carwashes and abuse on autos and trucks works great on windows.
